Anyone shooting rimfire rifle past 250 meters?

At our Club (SGC) we shoot metallic targets at 200m with .22rf. Most use the Burris Signature rim fire rings with a +20 insert in the rear ring & a -20 insert in the front. This compensates for the huge amount of elevation required at this distance. (approx. +24" from the 100m setting)

Many use the Federal 510 ammo, it's high velocity but is accurate & very reliable.

a few years back there was an American shooter in Nevada or Utah, shooting his CZ out past 600 yards, he posted a bunch on these boards about the shooting and equipment. It was impressive. The guys name was clay, forget his handle. If you can find the thread you will be impressed.

Yup. I have seen his vids. Pretty awesome.

"Clayneb"I think?

It is pretty impressive, but far from pop can sized groups at 350ish yards/meters. His target is a large steel plate. He has some great vids on ytube under curtis clayne

I am a big fan of using the hold over method for going out to 250m and 300m it works perfectly with the second notch and the post for distance with my scope. A lot of trial and error to figure that out though. 250m I can nail clay pigeons all day, 300m is a big jump and it's about a 1ft x 2ft target depending on the wind.

Hyperbole? Or extra large clays?

Just regular clays for target practice. They are smaller than the ones I use in the clay thrower for the shot gun. Say about the size of my palm. And going out to 300m I fall apart and have no consistency. My elevation is within a 6in, but from left to right seems like a guessing game.
