Looking for thoughts on the these two rimfires. Which would you choose? Both are the same price.

1. Savage Model 64G Semi-Auto Rifle .22LR

2. Savage Arms Mark II G Semi-Auto Rifle .22LR

Any particular reason? Brand loyalty? Aesthetics? Metal parts vs plastic? Is one inherently more accurate than the other?

Mk ii is a bolt, so it should be more accurate. I have one and its great. (It's not a semi...) They are a very good value. Try to find a heavy barrel version if you are planning on using it for a range toy.

The mk ii has a better trigger too. (Accu-trigger on the mkii)

The 64 is supposed to be decent, but i think there are a few other options in the same sort of price range worth looking at too. Marlin 60 comes to mind.

I will be using this to hunt only and Im only interested in semi auto. I thought the MK 11 was semi, my bad.

Looking for semi auto .22LR in WOOD.

Why only a semi? If it's for hunting, you should be making the first shot count, and you won't beat a bolt action accuracy without spending a whole lot of coin on a semi...

My bone stock mkii shoots barely over 1/2" at 50yds with cci standard. Won't find a semi doing that for three times what i paid.

I have a Marlin XT-17V and love it. But i thought about owning a Savage for a semi-auto for hunting and plinking.

*distance for hunting would be UNDER 40 yards and reserved for grouse and perhaps hares*

What's the most accurate semi-auto (blue/wood) that is under $300?

Well if you want a savage, and it must be a semi, you've already made your choice on gun.

I haven't used one, but from what i hear they are decent for the price. Marlins get the better reviews accuracy wise though.

Under $300 you've got very few options. Unless you go used, lots of options on the EE. Older mossbergs are quite renowned, and very reasonably priced.

Well, there are the new A22s, but I would never advise paying to be the beta tester for a new product, and I think most are a bit past $300 as well.
