Hello,

I just purchased a CADEX DEFENCE FREEDOM LITE RIFLE, 300 WM, 24.00" BARREL, DX2 TRIGGER, MX1 BRAKE.

I am new to the sport and had a few questions. I did some research but with limited knowledge prefer to ask the questions directly here to have an answer tailored to my needs. Like mentioned, I am looking to start the sport and slowly move my way up to long distance shooting 1000-2000yards +.

I am looking to purchase the top quality equipment for my rifle right away so I don't have to upgrade later on.

1) what optics would you guys recommended?

2) Which precision rings to get?

3) which ammo should I go for? .300WM 180gr, 220gr, etc ?

4) Do you guys use a rangefinder if so, which one?

Sorry if these are newbie questions and thanks in advance for the help!

Although I don't have one in my gun safe, my co-worker does. After taking it out a couple times it's a blast! Super accurate gun.

1) I would go with NightForce. I run a 8-32x56 and love it
2) I went with NightForce ultra-light rings.
3)Never had a problem with Federal Gold Medal match ammo. I've also seen good results in person with the Hornady ELD-X rounds.
4)Leica makes some really good rangefinders. I've used mine to range animals as far as 1600 yards.

thanks for your answer,

as for accuracy, how would you compare it to the r700 Milspec 5r .308win ?

I got the exact same rifle and it is honestly one of the best rifles I have shot. It kicks like a 223 even though it sa 300 win mag but mine has a 26in barrel. Im reloading and it likes the 208 gr Hornandy ELD Match with 75.6 grains of H1000. The rounds are made extra long though to accommodate the extra length. Setup so that the bullet is .025 off the lands. Will do a 3/4" group at 200 yds. Like the previous post said, get that Nightforce 8-32. Put a cant level on it to if you are planning shooting that far.You will not go wrong. Have fun with your new purchase.

Have the Cadex Guardian, mounted it with a Kahles k624i, no regrets in the least. Used Cadex rings, as they have a nice profile and the spuhr rings are overhyped in my mind, for my intended use. Cheers!

Great gun purchase, My cadex in 300 would do under 1/3 MOA at 300 meters all day long, they are very accurate, with a developed load, there is no reason why they wouldn't outshoot even the finest custom rifle.
