That's really helpful when the title specifically stated 1911.....
I would hold out for the Springfield over the Remington or Ruger. The adjustable sights are worth the small price difference especially if you intend to try various loads. Second choice would be a Colt Competition. If you prefer the 'tactical' type sights then I would rate the Colt first as they've got the low drag look but are still adjustable. You can then also use the phrase, "if it ain't a pony it's a phoney!". I disagree but still find it humorous.
LOL I was thinking the same thing about the CZ comment. I'm agreeing about the Springfield.. however, and big upside down smile... I've got quotes as much as 4 months to get a stainless springfield in stock from a few places. I think what I'm going to do is grab Remington R1 Enhanced off Cabelas in the mean time just to quell the havent-bought-a-new-gun-in-a-few-weeks urge.
Being still kinda new to the sport, I have a feeling I will be one of those guys with an entire safe full of 1911's in a few years.
