So i got a email from Marstar today regarding 7.62x39 M305's its 18.5 inchs and accepts ak mags. So obviously i threw my wallet at the computer and pre ordered one. Im going into this blind though, they dont give you a whole lots of info. Does anyone know anything about them????

I was looking at that too. Looks interesting! Anything that eats that sweet 7.62x39 surplus gets my attention! You're right though, they are a little thin on details. Why don't you trust them Ebola?

Didn't dear john also once say that they stopped selling 18.5" 305s due to some unspecified supposed issues?

And now their ad makes it sound like they're the (sole) importer of these 18.5" 305s

Such a bee esser...

Darn it...
Been away and off the forum for a few weeks, got the email and immediately placed a pre-order. I was excited to have another option for shooting 7.62X39... but despite good dealings personally with Marstar in the past, i just can't support them after what I just read. I have no doubt the M305's would be fine guns with no issues. Its the principle of the thing.

Ill keep my eyes open for another sponsor to list them. Hopefully for a similar price.

On a different note, I did buy my canik tp9sf from mar star a month or so ago and it was a great transaction.

Have they said what mags these ones will take?

Hope both of these versions work well.

Someone posted a thread a week or 2 ago that shows an EBR type model in 5.56, and it looks very much like an AR mag in it. Hope that is the case!

I just don't get it. What does this rifle offer over a Mini 30 besides an extra 3.5# of unnecessary weight?

I dont own a Mini30 but I have read they can be picky on surplus ammo. If the M305A prove to run properly on surplus ammo, that's good
