wife got a ppq m1. the paddle mag release is nice, she is a lefty and me a right, so makes it even better as either of us can use it. The paddle is much better for sure, anyone who says otherwise not tried it or gotten use to it. much better. great gun, especially with the adjustable grip with 3 different inserts. tho its set for my wife not me

Would love to see Rich LPS demonstrate PPQ as accurate as Sig X5. Scepticism here.
X5 & PPQ both have unsupported barrels in the slide, aka, no barrel bushing locking the barrel to the slide to the frame.
Issue two is competition absence. Plinking is fine, competition is where guns succeed or fall by the wayside.
Have not seen PPQ used in two matches I was at this year so far.

X5 also does not have a supported barrel, similar lock-up to the PPQ. I'm also finding that my new X-Series is just as accurate as my PPC-9.
I intend on using my PPQ in the PPC Duty Class. Pretty new gun, it is now on the NRA lists for PPC Duty and Service pistol.
Try one out, for a polymer duty gun the accuracy is outstanding.

Loving my PPQ M2 5". very accurate @ 25 meters. The only upgrade for me, compared to Q5, is the stock trigger. while the trigger is nice and smooth on PPQ M2, the travel is a little bit long compared to Q5. Apex has the trigger upgrade for PPQ M2. I am just waiting for a colored version before upgrading. right now they only offer pure black and black with the blue trigger safety. I would love to see they offer red, purple and other colors like they do for M&Ps.

I run a PPQ M1 Navy in IDPA. I've also run it HARD in Advanced Pistol and CCW classes in Arizona. It has been flawless and from a reliability perspective it easily kept up with the five Glocks in the groups. I also find it far more accurate than any of my Glocks (OEM or aftermarket triggers), my p226 Xtreme with the SRT or any of my other pistols.
In my experience holsters and mags are harder to come by than Glocks or Sigs, but easier than H&K. Overall it just requires a little patience to source.
I think you don't see them in competition as Walther hasn't bothered pandering to the professional shooters like CZ, Glock or other manufacturers. It's too bad, because I think they're a very viable contender.

Too bad you are so far away from me. Would love see you & your PPQ perform. As a duty or service class firearm you would encounter stiff competition, including me & my S&W 19. Ha ha.
My friend has your PPQ but is mostly mediocre with it, and your telling me that they are great. Perhaps you can suggest an accuracy load he can try?

A friend of mine on here routinely wins matches with his PPQ, I Also run a P99 as my competition gun. Just because it doesn't have a big following like CZ or Glock doesn't mean it's not a good pistol. You have to keep in mind the PPQ is still relatively new, and probably one of the best stock trigger on a pistol there is.

My hardcore S&W buddy tried mine on Friday and he shot 6 rounds at 25 meters a bit tighter than his S&W PPC-9 duty gun (5" with fixed sights). But he's out of practice and is the first time he has shot since the winter.

The PPQ is outstanding. I own it. A PPX. An SP22 M2. A P22 and I'm considering a P99... Love Walthers for their grips and common sense designs. Also well priced for a German manufactured weapon IMO.

I thught they were the same trigger less the blue coating? Specs are the same according to Walther.
I have a PPQ M2 and although I really like it, mine suffers from the "trigger rub" problem that you may have read about. My cousin also has one that suffers from this. Makes me wonder how common it is. I bought mine from IRG and am waiting to hear back from them on whether this is a warranty thing, or if I even want to bother going that route. I've put about 300 rounds through mine and it hasn't reduced at all, like some people will say occurs with use. So considering I bought the thing because of all the rave about the trigger, I'm disappointed. I've considered the Apex trigger but I read somewhere that Walther won't warranty after the change and could potentially render the gun unsafe. So hopefully they will fix it for me at the factory.
I also have an X-5 competition which is like laser beam accurate. I have not been able to replicate such accuracy with the PPQ but they are very different animals.

Can you elaborate on "trigger rub"? Is the trigger bar rubbing on the frame?
I think that's the cause of it. I'm not someone who is savvy with the inner workings of firearms or the terminology of the smaller parts, but that does seem to be where it is occurring. Obviously it's most noticeable when the trigger is squeezed slowly. It seems to happen just before the trigger breaks, making it feel sloppy/catchy instead of nice and crisp. It's not there when firing follow up shots if I let the trigger only come back to the reset point. I don't really know how to explain it better than that- sorry.

With the slide off, you have easy access to at least 3/4 of the trigger bar. I would try blowing it out with compressed air, or using a bit of transparency film or something to get between the frame and trigger bar to clear out any debris.
I have already gotten in there and cleaned it out and oiled it pretty well, I think. What makes me think it's the trigger bar is that if I use a finger to lift it away from the frame underneath and pull the trigger, there is no rub feel. My cousin said that he uses grease on his and it solves the problem for a while and then he needs to reapply. I guess oil isn't dense enough to smoothen it out. I haven't tried the grease route yet.

Sometimes stamped metal pieces can have rough edges. You could remove the trigger bar and see if your fingernail catches on the edges. It might not hurt to carefully break the sharp edges of the bar or other metal parts that rub against the frame.
