vanguard bolt upgrade

Epps is currently waiting on parts from Weatherby to finish ones currently in the shop and future ones that come in.

I sent mine last fall to Sports World Inc., Tulsa, Oklahoma (918) 742-4027 as per S&W instructions (I had the version that HOWA built for S&W). Turnaround was about 2 weeks. They mail you a package which includes customs declaration. Unfortunately you're on the hook for shipping it there. They cover the return.

Vanguard Safety Notice
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
VANGUARD® BY WEATHERBY RIFLE
Weatherby, Inc. of Paso Robles, California, is performing a safety upgrade on all Vanguard® by Weatherby brand rifles manufactured between the years 1970 to 1993.

The affected rifles bear serial numbers from one of the following series on the receiver: 00001 through 03810; V00001 through V80966; VX00001 through VX44065; VS00001 through VS23699; VL00001 through VL46984; W0001 through W0099; NV0001 through NV0099. The safety upgrade will replace the bolt sleeve to prevent misassembly of the bolt, which might occur on the affected rifles. Such misassembly might result into a hazardous condition in which the rifle can be accidentally discharged without the bolt being fully engaged, causing severe injury.

WARNING : If you own a Vanguard® by Weatherby rifle with a serial number from one of the serial number series referred to above: USE OF YOUR RIFLE MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT AND SEVERE INJURY. STOP USING YOUR RIFLE IMMEDIATELY and click on this link http://www.weatherby.com/vanguardsafety/registration to receive a Bolt Return Kit. Only the bolt sleeve is being upgraded. Your bolt will be returned to you after the upgrade. If you do not have web access, call Weatherby at 1-800-227-2018 to receive a Bolt Return Kit.

Why would the person at Ellwood Epps tell me that they were sent from Weatherby in January?

Because that is when they told them it was shipped. Which has turned out not to be the case.

They did get a batch of bolt shrouds and have completed the ones they had there for work and have been shipped back.
If you had sent one in and havent recieved it back yet email them.

So, you're saying Weatherby lied to EE?
You would think the company that replaces the shrouds would have a supply so they wouldn't EVER run out.
I did send one in, and it was shipped back, as mentioned above. 3.5 month turnover.
Are you the owner or manager of EE?
I must add that 95% of the communication with EE was initiated by me phoning. Pretty much useless emailing them.

I have been doing the shop email since mid January. as they were having issues getting them all answered. Epps has had bolt shrouds on order since September last year. so they have been waiting quite a while to get parts shipped.

I answer emails wed and thursday. And im pretty sure i havent missed any sent to gunsmith. If i have resend it.

Parts ordered since sept. I guess telling you're clients that would be wrong.
Blaming another company for you not having stock???
Telling the client that the parts have been shipped, but blaming the shipping company for lying.
Not answering emails.
Never, not once, not even a hint, nadda, "what can we do for the client to make this right???"
I've learned my lesson. Thank you.

Not much a company can do when the parts supplier wont send parts. But im sure you are to far along with your rightious indignation to care.

And as i stated. Without your email address i cannot see if you sent emails or not.
