Kids starting fires

Spent the weekend with my girlfriend and we figured it would be a great weekend for some survival skills for her boys.

So the pellet rifle and the firestarters came out. We went through a ton of pellets and got a couple fires going.

We used the Strikeforce Fire Starter from UST which can be found here on our website.

After we threw some dryer lint in the pile, the boys were able to start the fires right away. Such a rewarding experience for everyone.

I remember as a kid I found a huge glass lens in the garbage and that thing was so powerful it used to light paper on fire in seconds!

Good for you. The kids are always involved in fire making when we camp or go on day trips. Dryer lint is awesome for starting a fire with a spark.

In my day we had to wait for fire to be invented

Did you also walk 200 miles, over 1 mountain and across 2 rivers to go to school, just to see Ms. Palmer's huge ti.... I mean get a better education?

I remember camping with my Dad and Uncle. Kids were expected to deal with the fire and food... beer was a man's job.

When I was a kid dad only gave me a candle, some small twigs and a bow drill, fun times if the temperature was above minus 30 haha, looks like fun

That's awesome. My dad did that with me. I am going to start doing this with my girls this summer! can't believe I waited this long.

Another alternative would be to call Bear Grylls and have him drop from a helicopter onto a mountain top, slide down carelessly, gallop across questionable rocky terrain, swim through piranha infested waters and arrive to drink his own piss and start the fire for you.
