B&T APC Range report, comparisons and groups

I did mention the discolouration on the bolt carrier.

Won't help me but maybe the next batches users. could you also mention to maybe add a loop to the gas regulator like the acr and SAN rifles. I don't know about the other fellows but for me it was a PITA to remove even with only 150 rounds of carbon fouling. A loop to run a cleaning rod or bullet tip will help.

That stock looks like someting Tapco came up with. :-(

On HK style stocks you are supposed to press the cheekbone on that round plastic part of the stock right behind the receiver.

Try that with extended irons and you'll get a perfect sight picture.

I've noticed that works, but it feels like I have to crane my head too far forward.

Anyway, I wrapped up a cheek riser and it seems to work for a 1/3 cowitness MRDS. Maybe I'll whip up a solid for a plastic cheek riser that can be 3D printed when I get back to the shop. What would be an ideal height increase?

It's 16' of 550 paracord. The rope under is 14" of 5/8". I think a single length of 3/4" or 1" would work better than double 5/8" like I had but that's all Home Depot had.

good god what is up with these stocks being so low. Awful tbh. Should have just stuck with a tradition ar style buffer tube and stock.

Man that'd be awesome if you could build something on a 3d printer and sell it on cgn... I'd emt you some $$ for one. Personally my optic sits pretty low already, (and I'm guessing you're going to get a bunch of different opinions regarding the ideal height) but I'd be happy with a 12mm increase to be able to use a scope with a small objective lens.
I did consider the paracord idea, but didn't think of a larger rope underneath it. Looks serviceable, good work.

Nice write up Mike. Glad I bought the ACR DMR over the APC. Seems like the APC was all hype. Will probably see them on the EE PRETTY soon.

Anyways. What Barrel do you have on the ACR? Mine has the new heavy barrel with 1/7 twist. Would love to see range reports with the new barrel. Bet it would destroy the APC.

Well no, I guess you missed a few good points about the APC and you went straight to the conclusion.
The action is superb, best cycling rifle I own (and I own a lot of semi auto rifles) and the accuracy is better than my ACR.

No. I read your entire post. It is heavier, has a terrible stock and trigger. You stated accuracy slightly better than the ACR. What barrel do you have in the ACR?? Did you use same scope for both rifles?

Because the OP put an actual scope on the gun, whereas the APC was originally designed as a police carbine with something like an Aimpoint Micro on a low mount.
