Well Boomer we sure managed to derail this thread about Winchester Mod 70 Super Grades........
Send that rifle to Ron Smith and have 'er hogged out to a 35 Whelen or maybe a .366 Wagner........then you too could have a rifle to be proud of........and far more appropriate for that white bear country where you choose to exist.
Personally I think Winchester Model 70 Supergrade for a "milestone gift" should be in a classic Winchester cartridge
If the guy reloads 708 if not 270
Either way it's a he'll of nice gift
I halfway agree. It should be in a classic cartridge though, for me, it doesn't necessarily need to say "Winchester" on the case head.
Who said it was for a guy? Don't gender-shame our female shooters!
Actually BUM, even though I know you're being a smart ass..............The op did say it was for his brother, which is being fairly gender specific........Sounds to me like someone just had to attend a PC and sensitivity program...............were you less than politically correct or insensitive with one of your "clients" or co-workers, BUM, thus getting yourself a free program? I have a buddy who works for a large corporation.........he was "asked" to attend several of these programs, over the years.........didn't help!!! He did learn the latest PC buzz words though, even if he never learned the correct context in which to use them..........They just added to his arsenal of derogatory terms he used on incompetent underlings........
Wellllllll......... I got a little carried away.
I bought a Supergrade in 30-06 and an EW in 308, I'll figure out which best suits him and go from there.
After spending some time searching for M70's, I think I need to order another one for myself in 280
Thanks for all the input fellas!
