I shot my first IPSC match of the season this past weekend. Great little club match with some really fun stages.

We shot stage 4 first and I was the first shooter. It turns out my legs still weren't awake yet. Lol

Thanks to those involved in helping setting up and organizing this match! Looking forward to the next one.

Here's a video of the day.

I do enjoy those backing up stages. They are the most challenging from a technical move+shoot perspective, most rewarding to the highest skilled shooters, and most dangerous!

Definitely some great stages and it was a great warmup for the season. Having not shot all off season, I'm not too disappointed.

I was thinking of shooting this match, but custer had their match same day (which was cancelled due to area 1 :( ). But then I realized there is no carry optics division, and I'd be stuck shooting against open guns....

So you'd be in Open....and the problem is...?

There was no big prize money or trophies, just a TON of fun! The organizers and volunteers kicked ass with this match and we all had a fun day. :)

Mav, thanks for posting the video.

Not showing up because you are going to be slightly less competitive in your division is a horrible excuse for not going. If that was the case, most of us probably wouldn't attend World Shoot, Nationals or any other match where we might not win. The reason to shoot competitively is not for the money (there is none), not for the prizes (lol), the fame, glory or women. It's to have fun. You can't have fun shooting if you don't get out to matches.

Besides, most of the Open shooters were either
a) at Area 1
b) still hibernating
c) not invited to attend (due to Club membership rules, from what I was told)

it was more so going to Custer to shoot with 23 round magazines, than in canada with 10.. however area1 put the kabosh onto the local match, had I realized before registration opened that custer would have been cancelled, I probably would have dusted off my 10 rounders from Corwin Arms.
