As my eyes get older Im having more trouble seeing the front sight on my revolvers, mainly the red front ramp sights on my S&W revolvers.

Is there type of paint or somthing avaiable to touch up the front sight so I can see it better? I had a hiviz fiber optic installed on one revolver and I love it but it turned out to be quite expensive and probly cant afford to do it on all my guns.

I used fluorescent orange model paint on my M&P40's front sight and it worked out quite well.

As Cranberry mentioned just above I did Google strontium aluminate and that looks pretty good.

For white I have had the best success with white appliance touch up enamel paint, very bright and sticks very well. Available at CT and Home Hardware, comes in a small bottle. Dip a pin or pointed toothpick in and let it drip onto sight, don't use the provided brush or the paint will drip everywhere.

I've done the same (Testors) and it has really helped. Not quite up there with a F/O sight but much cheaper.

FYI, if u plan on using any of the hi viz type paints, be sure to put a base color of white down first and the other paint will pop when applied over the dry surface. Just putting on the colored paint/nail polish etc without a base results in a less vibrant final color..

Yes, must use white enamel first. I use Testor's florescent orange paint, bought at the hobby shop. I paint it on with a sliver of cardboard.

I found the bottle dried out and most of got wasted. Next time I bought the paint pen version. Much better.
