Thermal where to buy

hey guys thinking about getting a thermal optic, my price range is in the $4000 dollar range. Im looking in to ATN Thor-HD and also Pulsar models. Does any one know who carrys these items. Thanks for the help
 
Hey, not the answer to your question but 4K buys really nice night vision... 10K+ buys really mediocre thermal.... if your not spending 15k on a scope or 20k on a head set I would pass altogether.
 
I believe IRunGuns and plainSight Solutions, both site sponsors, had some Pulsar stuff. Scout Base Camp or Brandon Optics might be others to check out. For the price point I think the Pulsar is the better way to go, particularly over ATN.

I would agree with Foxer though. I've had Flir PS32 thermal monoculars, which are pretty mediocre. For the same price I bought a really good PVS14. Not to discourage you from thermal, it is really cool tech and I would love a thermal riflescope, but there are other options.

For under $4k, the Pulsar Apex 38A offers a remarkable detection range, resolution, and features. As a dealer I am biased, however having spent considerable time testing and using various models in the field, thermals are vastly superior to night vision when it comes to detection, and dealing with various types of terrain and environmental factors (such as fog). Likewise, I have only received positive feedback from customers who have bought and used them.

Depends on what you wanna use it for, but yeah I tend to agree; 4K for a thermal is very optimistic. Though the 15K you mention would buy you a pretty impressive system that goes above and beyond what a lot of commercial customers would need. Just my opinion though.
 
I've gone with a layered approach. Inexpensive, mediocre thermal for detection and a very good image intensifier monocular for interacting with others.

I bought my thermal from Scout Basecamp. Good people.
