There's been a bit of a buzz over on the Glock Talk forum...is this a thing?

When are they coming here?:dancingbanana::runaway:

17-19m, developed for the FBI. Not sure if it'll come to civilian market. Probably in the future Gen 5? Flared magwell, no finger grooves, cutout for mag stripping in the front strap a la gen2, Ambi slide release, rounded muzzle end of slide, longer recoil assembly, different shape safety plunger.

Quite a substantial list of improvements imo worth a new Gen for sure.

i just picked up my first 19 couple months ago (gen 3) and im awaiting that 19M (or gen 5) to be released, it corrects all the stuff about the 19 i have that i dont particularly care for.
no front serration, the finger groves on the front of the grip, ambi slid release.

so im in for one when they come out for sure.

...also a two pin frame. The guys over at Glock Talk are saying this is the way all Glock models are going.

a 17.

I believe that's the difference between the 'M' model and the civilian gen 5. My first pic is a G19 FBI gen 'M' but it clearly has a 3 pin frame, unlike the G17 above which is also an 'M'...but my undersatnding is that this is a gen 5. G17 and G19 initially .

There is a reason the price has dropped on existing stock. These new models are suppose to be out over the summer, at least in the US.

And the general drop in gun sales in the US also contributed. Everyone stocked up because they thought the notorious HRC (Pantsuit Queen Hilary) was going to win and when that did not happen, sales dropped like a rock. All the gun makers are dropping their prices and/or offering big rebates.

I'm thinking this is a Photoshopped picture—the "M" in "19M" looks tilted a little compared to the "19", and the colour of the slide by the front slide serrations is slightly different than the rest of the side. Still probably a good idea of what one will look like.

Absolutely. That is an artist's rendition of what the gen 5 could be. The existing 17m's have no front serrations.
