I took the spring out of mine and wow its actually very light,,slight creep but I can live with that. Im under 1 lb for sure and slammed the butt down and bumped the rifle hard and it did not fire with a snap cap in it.

I've checked out a couple of sites, youtube etc., but can't seem to find the answer to my question. I want to replace the factory stock on my Gen II Ruger RPR with a Gen III Magpul PRS stock. Do I need a new "buffer tube" or would this be a simple swap?

I dont have the gen3 prs but i had to use a rifle length a2 buffer tube. I think mine is a gen 2. The collapsable stock tube wasnt long enough to secure the stock.

Yes you will need a different tube.
