POA/POI 1911 Sight Set

Ok its time for a "Sights for dummies" question. I fully understand what happens when you move sights up/down and side to side.

I have my eye on a set of Heinie Classic sights. Heinie claims that all of there sights are designed to “cover the target” POA/POI not 6 o’clock hold.

How are sights made to shoot POA/POI only? Does the depth of the rear sight notch establish that or is it the height of both sights in relation to the bore?

What hold are most of you using on your 1911's out to 25 yards? Mine seems to be at 12 o'clock.

Most of mine are combat hold....one is poa....

POA/POI is determined by sight height.
