tikka t3 lite .338 wm: skinner peep and battue front

KJTLLXC.jpg

Up top a 500 S&W with a skinner peep, now has a metal front sight. Due to gunsmith incompetence the front sight ramp is too high; this may end up being the most expensive handi in the world.

Keith is that a boyds maple stock?

Good to know about the Handi, I just bought a Skinner for my Wife's 30 30

I'll soon be installing an XS peep to my Husqvarna 46a in 9.3x57 and fitting a Lyman 66a peep to my Winchester
94 in 30-30.

Shell Shucker - I am going down the same road now. I have added a full butt stock to my Ranch hand also. What height front sight did you find the best with this peep?

I am gettng the same XS Sight peep for my Rossi RH in 44 mg. The XS sight package (link below) comes with a .500 high sour dough front sight but can get them to substitute a taller one that is .600" high - it can be filed down if necessary. Do you think the .500" would be high enough?

Any one have these peeps for sale in Canada? I'm dealing with Brownells and XS Sights at present but have not finalized my order.

Your comments appreciated.

A while ago I filed my first dovetail to install a Cub/Cadet peep on my Stevens backpacker 22 magnum (13" barrel). Needed a taller front sight also - but is great to use. Had it shooting last week.

Whelen B,

I use the .531" high Marbles Contour front with 1/16" brass bead on both RH's & use the .190 aperture on the rear sight. I got my ones from Brownell's along with the sight slot blanks.

Cheers,
SS

I built this peep from the bottom half of a scope ring. The front sight was made from some stainless steel and fiber optic rod. Husqvarna 46a 9.3x57

I've been partial to Skinners myself, I only had a few pics on my phone.
At one time I had Andy at Skinner make up a set for me.

444 = "Outfitter"
336ss = "Outlaw"
357cs (not pictured) = "Outrider"

I've also used a Williams on a 358 blr,

So whats better for the Ruger 1..... necg or skinner??

I know there's a lot of love on here for NECG, but I hate 'em. Too blocky. I like to see the ring of the peep and nothing else. All those wings and knobs on the NECG are just a distraction, and butt ugly to boot. So Skinner would be the answer to your question.
