Qve 45... It's got remnants of a "Normandy" looking camo paint wash. Given the rifles history and where it came from, I would say it is likely wartime German applied. Thanks for the lovely pics Andrew ;)

Now I need to take some pics of my French WW1, WW2 and post war self loaders...

Here's one of the much rarer self loaders...

RSC Mle 1917, 8mm Lebel. The RSC Mle 1917's were the first semi autos fielded by any army in significant numbers. This was Frances main semi auto rifle during WW1...

They also used the RSC Mle 1918, a carbine version (those are uber rare) and then of course they used the Meunier A6 as developed in the late 1890's and fielded in 1916/17, about 1013 made... those are so rare it hurts, basically limited to a few select museums in France.

This rifle is over 100 years old... It is still fully functional. :)

It has some interesting notches in the wood, as seen in the last pic. If only these rifles could talk.

I think a few years ago there was a company in France that was making reproductions. That might be worth looking into

Yes sir, an Australian company too. However these have all dried up and made their way into collections, not easily parted with.

I'm always looking for repros or orgnals... if anyone finds any just PM me ;)

Hi pcvando,

No unfortunately I do not have any of the special clips, not even when I was collecting clips and chargers.

The French m1918 semi auto that followed the m1917 went back to using the usual Berthier 5 shot clips.

To be fair the 'usual' 5 shot Berthier Clip didn't exist when the M1917 was developed (both the clip for the M1917 and M16 Berthiers were developed separately at the same time). You can't go back to something that it never had in the first place.

Don't see those Hakim's every day... let alone a cutaway. Nice! Had an AG42 but bit me too many times... and expensive... holy liftin'

Anyways... my only true military, full bore, semiauto...
