303 British Ruger + deer

our Anzac day is coming up Tuesday, so last week I took out the .303 cartridge for a hunt, although not a War rifle, the Ruger 1 is a nice piece to hunt, mild on the recoil and the trigger is good for huntin.

I can just get away with using the Factory open sights but am still thinking ill NECG it in near future..
used the Corelokt 180gr loadings from Remington on this Buck from around 25 meters.
I also load 150gr sierra pro hunters for around the same usable poi in short range deer huntng.

thought you guys would like too see a Ruger 303 in the field!

Very nice. Since your toilet bowls swirl the wrong way and Christmas is in the summer I assume the bucks are rutting down there.
 
Nice classic departure for you mate! I think that 303 brit has got to be one of the best No1 chambers to own and hunt with, especially for a commonwealth chap. Beautiful buck!

Where is the Kimber love?

Gday mate, I rekon this Young buck would only be around 45kilos to maybe 50 kilos. only a couple years old and due to the Rut, isn't carrying a full body mass.

Cheers mate! I'm starting to enjoy the special use it provides! The Kimber has just been Resighted with the Winter brew for the big Deer , we are a month out from a Big Hunt camp which sort of Kicks off my Winter season!! I had her out in the Early Rut an all was good.
Will be goin on a few Back pack hunts this year an looking forward to toting her along!

No problems at all mate, they are a nice deer, especially once you get up close to them!! one of my favourite species

Not to mention that they talk funny, too, but hey, they like beer, so that buys them a lot of indulgence from me. Nice toy and nice deer. What species, if I may be so dumb?
 
Jun 1 it opens for sitka deer on Haida Gwaii can't wait to fry up sum fresh back strap
Your photo ar amazing can't whait to get out just builds to the excitement
