local canadian tire idiot special

No I asked if it was a mistake they came back and said nope that is the price. I was hoping it would be on sale when I saw it. I want the action not another 300 wm.

a Savage doesn't cost that much , and Stevens is the budget brand. On top of that, the Stevens was discontinued several years ago. Knuckleheads. $399 when they were still being made. $299 every now and then on sale at different retailers.

Therein lies the answer.......C.T. is seeing these Stevens rifles as collectors items now that they have been discontinued : )

It's called a free market, the store is free to charge as much as they want and you are free to buy or not. No point in being personally offended by the price.

The CT's around me that are stocking firearms can be hit and miss with pricing.
Usually they show a really high suggested MSRP, and a bit lower actual price listed.

That said they always have some oddball stuff, and some NOS rifles.

For example there's some TC Icons, there's been Savage 210 bolt action shotguns, and they have an FN SPR A1a of all things.

All kinds of ammo too, 41 Rem mag, 7-30 waters, 218 bee, etc.....

Don't they price-match, AND offer 10% in CT money? So a Stevens 200, is worth, what - $400? So they price match down $800, and give you $80. Hell, that's a Stevens, and a flat of shot shells for free!

I get them to price match on 22 ammo all the time, they price match and then give you 10% of the lower price in CT money....if you can find that gun locally in stock somewhere, they should price match....I had one manager try to tell me they don't price match guns/ammo, quick complaint to corporate customer service fixed that pretty quick

I keep hearing of Canadian Tires with awesome inventory and prices, but I sure haven't seen that yet LOL...prices are out to lunch on in every gun aisle I've looked at, the store in Cold Lake, AB had a surprisingly awesome selection, but prices were a good 15-30% higher

Some times they can put the wrong price on for the benefit of the consumer. Came across a Mossberg 2 barrel semi auto shotgun last year at C.T. they were selling for $450. Thought that was maybe a misprint as well.
