Looking for some insight here. I have a bait site that had good activity ( 4 different bears on camara) last fall and I was lucky enough to take one. As soon as I got the first one the bait sight went dead. I continued to bait for three weeks after but nothing came back and it was being hit daily before. Fast forward to this spring I have had bait out for two weeks and still nothing and I know there's bears in area. Is the site bad now? Should I relocate? Thanks

If I had proof that a bait site was not attracting bears, I would take that as proof that I needed a new site. If it ain't broke, don't fix it; but if it is obviously broke, fix it.

What you are using for bait can have a huge impact. Make it irresistible.

Bears have different wants/needs in spring than fall.

Carrion and greens are their #1 spring thing to blow their plugs and get their systems working.

Grease is a great substitute. Hard donut shop grease was always the #1 draw in the spring in my baits.

Going to try something different this year; got 2500 pounds of licorice and 1800 pounds of Skittles coming. Anyone know where I can get a 5 gallon pail of insulin? ;)

:sok2 how in he$% did you manage to round up that? if the Licorice is black, send it my way :)

Licorice is for black bears; Skittles is for coloured bears, unless that's racist, then skittles are all inclusive. Halloween will
lokely never be the same again.............

There's an outfit in Minnisota called Lucky 7 Bear bait. They have all sorts of things. I just assumed freight would
be crazy, but eventually sent an email inquiring. It's really not that bad.
