Just saw this thread. I recently acquired my first Sig and posted about it in another thread but I guess it qualifies to be here too. I've yet to get it to the range but I'm looking forward to taking it out for a spin. The grip panels are dated 2/63 so probably from around then.

Congrats. While you're waiting for your RPAL, if you happen to see a good deal/sale, most retailers will allow you to purchase or leave a deposit on one and will hold on to it until you get your RPAL number. Just confirm the refund policy if you change your mind or your RPAL gets denied.

My first pistol was a Sig too (and not all that long ago), it's a slippery slope LOL!

Only have the one now. A 226R with caliber change kits in 22, 9mm, 357 Sig, and 40 S&W. Used to have the Browning version of the 220, liked that, should have kept it. - dan

How about first RCMP issue SIG returned as the slide would break with P++ loads. One can barely make out the GRC-RCMP on the slide.

Huh, that actually fleshes out the story I'd been told for my P226, same origin, but mine has Millet sights and Pachmayr grips installed.
