Show us your Sig Sauers

Have not seen this Sig posted in this thread. Bought five years ago from Wolverine. What little info available on internet I have researched indicates there are less than two dozen in mainland USA and even less in Canada. These were crafted in the Mastershop in Germany and supplied to Norway Special Forces. Unfortunately, the US imports had standard P226 4.75” barrels and slides and then were stamped with the “Exeter, NH” on the slide. This is the 5” barrel. No mods on the .40 S&W in Canada.

Can’t post pic until more contributions to boards. This was a pic of the P226 S X-5 “ Norway”.

12 pound Double action pull and 2 pound single action. Decocker. I have put several hundred rounds through it and target re-acquisition is fast! Not much recoil because of stainless steel slide. The frame is heavy but, I think it is alloy. The slide and barrel weigh more than the frame!

Looks similar to these which are a super nice pistol. ht tps://sports-action.ca/en/our-store/product/2600-sig-sauer-p226-five-short-9mm-made-in-germany.html

How about first RCMP issue SIG returned as the slide would break with P++ loads. One can barely make out the GRC-RCMP on the slide.

It was ground off on the left side. With a bit of powder it can be seen.

The actual story about these ‘84 dated RCMP-GRC ERT/SERT P226’s is that a couple pistols frames cracked, due to heat treatment issues on these two frames only, after tens of thousands +P ammo and were replaced in late ‘86 by Sig Sauer. Only two pistols are known to have been replaced. Since the armoury already had a few spare P226 from the original contract the members got a replacement right away.

The S&W 5946-3913 showed up in 1993 when S&W won the force contract, the ERT/SERT members were given the option of switching their old P226. Very few members actually went ahead and the few pistols that were switched had the left side of the slide smooth off to remove the RCMP-GRC markings and sold as surplus to one or two local gun shops.

This is actually one of them.

My new Sig P320 Pro Series with the LDC. I'll probably swap out the X-Ray's at some point, but it's my favourite P320 as it kind of combines the best things from different models.

maybe the cheapest sig sauer in the post

I have a cheaper one lol.
My first pistol purchase was a 9mm P220 with side mag release, they were $650 new at the time. They were a little odd being factory converted from 38 Super, mags had 38 Super stamp and re-stamped 9mm.
It's still my most accurate centerfire pistol 20 years running, little beat up as I did my black badge with it and shot IPSC with it, still have the custom made Laroche Leathers holster and mag pouches for it.

My first purchase: Sig Sauer P226 X-Five Short 9mm German proofs in and out. Brand New.

Beautiful pistol - Steel frame and slide. Bit pricey but if you can afford/find it then pick it up.

Do you know if it's possible to get it with the holster for the correct (left) hand?

Dust cover wise, there’s no real difference as to what holster will work with the X grip and a regular P320. So just about any left handed holder will fit it fine, as long as it’s made for a full size, which many are.

The old girl keeps getting upgrades...In the past year new sights and optic, new grips and most recently new flat trigger...still my favourite pistol after all these years.
