Our local crappy tire has strange prices on theirs all the time too. I seen a Savage rascal a few months ago for $449.

Not a rifle but, our local store had a PSE stinger compound bow mislabled as a PSB and it was in with the airsoft guns.
I watched the price on it drop over the period of about a year. It started at 400 and change (normal msrp). Then one day the wife and I were looking around and they had it down to 169.00. I literally couldn't leave the store without it.

Norinco JW15 semi auto 22lr for 89 bucks on sale. 1300 rounds through the gun and no jams. Eats anything, nice buy!

Therein lies the answer.......C.T. is seeing these Stevens rifles as collectors items now that they have been discontinued : )

In that case, they should sell them on the EE as "rare, semi-custom".

CT here sells no guns, and if you ask for ammo they have to go find the one person in the place that holds the evil ammo key, and who is "okay" with dealing with a gun person.

Closest canadian tire to me that sells firearms is just as bad. Went over to pick up some .22 ammo that wasn't in Stock at the CT in my town, and while I was there saw that they had a Norinco M14 for the stellar price of 999.99. I just laughed and when I couldn't find staff to get the ammo out for me I walked out and probably won't go back.

Our CT doesn't carry fire arms, but does have ammo. They've been competitive if not cheapest on most popular ammo (270, 30-30, 30-06, 22LR ) even compared to bass pro or cabanas, and other local box stores like TAC or Wall Mart.

Mine here on the island, can be weird for ammo. Same price as most, then these one off's like the Fusion brand, $54 a box, when everyone else at 39.99 and don't get me started on .30 cal for the M1 carbine, they think its pooped out my unicorns and priceless.
