This post is not about the supplier I bought the rifle from.
I received my new rifle on Wednesday and was finally able to open the box today. The rifle was in a sealed plastic bag with lots of oil on the rifle and throughout the parts. I took the rifle apart and gave it a deep clean. Very disappointed in how dirty the barrel was. Took awhile, but it is now shiny. I oiled and greased the rifle to spec. I own 8 M1 Garands and a Norinco M305 (308), so I know how to get them ready for shooting. I reassembled the rifle and cycled the bolt. I went to lock the bolt and the lock doesn't work. Tried it many times , as well with an empty mag. The bolt will not lock back. Looks like the lock has been ground down.
I am going to see if I can upload a photo of the lock.
Has anybody else had this issue right out of the box? I know it is a cheap Chines Norinco and you get what you pay for, but shouldn't it have been checked before it was boxed up?
