Manufacturers Continue to Find Ways.

It was designed for the California market. They have to use fixed mags (not easily removable).

Please explain what I am seeing. Why are they loading through the ejection port instead of just dropping in a fresh mag?

California and NY laws prohibit removable magazines in AR15's and must be pinned or secured into place. Many owners have resorted to changing the rifle to adhere to these ridiculous laws, but the modifications alter the rifle to a point of absurdity. However if you pin the magazines into place you can maintain the overall functionality of the AR. Some have designed a way to quickly pull the rear take down pin to get at the opening of the secured magazine for reloading. ME had designed this apparatus to load through the ejection port like an M1 or SKS utilizing stripper clips. It is quite an ingenious way to have these so called "communist" states citizens retain a semi Auto AR.

Because of bullet button.

''A bullet button is a device used to remove a magazine in a semiautomatic rifle, replacing the magazine release with a block which forces the user to remove the magazine by using a tool as opposed to his or her finger. This allows rifles to comply with California's firearms law.''

From wiki.

I love that these companies are trolling the anti-freedom politicians. Every time Cali Dems push a more restrictive law the free market finds a way.

The anti gun politicians are going to sh*t their pants when they watch this demo. That makes me so happy.

I'd have to go searching but I seen one where a guy made a glove with a pin secured to the middle right finger and a "flaired well" for the "bullet button" : with a little practice he could change magazines faster than a normal AR.

People will find ways.

This is a NY SAFE compliant AR 15 and without this MEAN quick loader it must be broken down to reload. Now it can be rapidly reloaded and the rifle can maintain all of the "scary" black rifle features the States want to prohibit.

The newest laws in Comifornia do not even allow the bullet button. The only way to detach the magazine from your AR is to pull the rear pin and pivot the upper on the front pin. And they have a 10 round limit for their magazines so loading through the ejection port is the fastest way to reload.
