10/22 trigger advice.

+1 for the BX triggers from Bass Pro. I ordered one from Brownells a while back when they were on sale but didn't know BP was selling them for $100CDN. After polishing up the parts, it's even smoother than factory tuned.

I bought a sooper-deluxe version of the 10/22 back when they were a new thing, disremember the model name. It has a beautiful chequered walnut stock and all and I don't think they made them for long. Anyway, the trigger on that rifle was very very good but I still bought the BX assembly even though it was only marginally better. You can't have too good a trigger and I'm a big believer in spare parts in case the SHTF or for my descendants (too many family guns have died for want of complicated parts), and in this case I now have a complete replacement trigger assembly in the form of the original one.

Thanks NVShooter, BlackWorks have done my trigger and few of my buddy's and the trigger improved dramatically. :)

Around 2.5lbs is nice for me.

What's the BlackWorks trigger like? And if you don't mind waiting asking, what did it cost you? I'm looking around to improve mine but I have a very limited budget.

Anyone know how the bx trigger compares to a factory trigger group with a volquartsen hammer? Does the factory with voltz hammer still have more creep, takeup, and overtravel ??

ya ive got both, the VQ is better but the BX is cheaper.
specifically i have the VQ HP set, so the big trigger kit they make.

If it's just the volquartsen target hammer in the stock group, it's still the better buy. I just installed one a couple weeks ago, and while I had the trigger apart I polished the sear and disconnector engagement surfaces and put a radius and polished the trigger return plunger. The trigger pull is under two pounds and only has the slightest bit of creep, but it's consistent and actually makes it feel like a two stage trigger if you really take your time on the pull. For $70.90 delivered to my door, and some very basic skills with tools, I would recommend it to anyone.
I felt a couple BX triggers in a basspro at the beginning of the month, and whIle they were a huge improvement over the stock trigger it doesn't even come close to what I was able to accomplish with the target hammer and a set of super fine stones.

X2. I did that to mine a few years ago and can confirm the results. Quick, inexpensive fix. Great results.
