'Bullets for Binos' aims to turn B.C. grizzly hunters into heroes

While I personally don't understand the desire to hunt grizzlies and the optics are horrendous for the rest of us meat hunters, it is a legal activity regulated by the provinces. Good on these folks for getting creative and leaving politics out of their largely symbolic act.

If nothing else very creative. I could careless what someone else does with there property (a bear tag),

My issue isn't with what they are doing, per say (the resort or the people who take advantage of their offer).

My issues are with this bullshyte idea that the grizzly bear hunt is some terrible thing that must be stopped, and the idea that ecotourism is a better alternative even though it brings way more people into the pristine wilderness/the bears habitat and is only more profitable because there is way more people doing it.

just because you have no clue what you're talking about doesn't mean you have your say on what we want, where we can still hunt them .... i eat grizzly bear meat a fall grizzly fed on berries mmmmm... and i hope it will continue to be legal ... and for the ones that shoot them as trophy or what else good on them also ...

Yup. Drive the chance of success for a hunter getting a tag way down, and take a potentially large of chunk of tags out of contention b/c a non hunter got it. Even at $1030 for a non-resident, some will consider it pocket change. Others will band together and throw in $50 each and raise funds for one person to apply.

Bad ju-ju...

Non-residents cannot apply for a Grizzly tag, they must go through an outfitter.

An application (residents only) cost 6 dollars and change, one must have a hunter number to apply and that takes some money, time, and a test must be passed.

The system is self correcting, if they want 5 bears taken and success drops from 20% to 10%, they will issue twice as many tags in subsequent years.
