make the margin work it? sell 500rds plus or small cases of 22lr only to start maybe. I mean ordering online its rather pointless to order less than 500-1000rds plus of anything, otherwise its just makes more sense to pick up ammo locally.

.22LR ammo can be had at most large retailers. CanadaAmmo stocks(and ships for free) the stuff not so readily available. Like powder, primers and bullets to name a few. Which I am grateful for.
Ooops, when I said ships for free, I meant with an order over 200 bucks. I forgot this because none of my orders ever had been under he limit.

Loss leaders doesn't work online. People just buy 100 of those LL, get free shipping, and the business is basically screwed. LL work with brick and mortar cause they place them at the back of the store so you have to literraly go through the whole store to get them. Online stores can't do that.
The only way I see canam make it work for 22lr is to get cheap chinese supply and sell them by the case of 5000 only. And even then, a case of 5250 federal champion goes for less than 400$ these days, so it's tough to beat after you include shipping, handling, etc., even if you find a lower priced source. And then the quality can't be too low; if more than 10% of your ammos don't go bang on the first strike, the whole brand is labeled a dud and there's no coming back from that, so that puts a floor on pricing.
Tough market the 22lr. There's a good reason there was a shortage.

seems to be plenty of supply in canadian tire here in vancouver. I usually buy 5 boxes of federal champion 525 everytime I need to replinish my stock.
