Here's one of mine, Grizzly with a Dlask forend and Magpul SGA

And it's for sale, just sayin'...

Shes a beauty. I have a shorty on the way and I'm trying to get an idea on mounting a light with a pressure switch. How do you find your forend? Does it chew up your left hand? What is your overall length with the SGA stock overall?

the for-end on the dlask will bite your hand on recoil . i changed mine out to a remington that i cut down and milled out to fit.i put on a aftermarket butt pad and called it good.make sure to wear hearing protection as these short barrel guns are extremely loud.

Dlask make / sells the forends. The rails are a bit rough but a magpul hand stop kit solves that quick. With all the stock spacers removed it's 27.5" which is pretty easy to pack around.

I had one, tried it with 3 different stocks. Hogue short LOP, Urbino, and Magpul. The Magpul was my favourite. I modified a Hogue forend to fit mine. I sold the shotgun in a fit of stupidity. It was a very handy size and I even shot clays with it which seemed to impress folks. lol

I like the oldschool wood and the new school SGA. Is it a trend that no one seems to hold on to them?

I dunno, for me the shorty was a novelty gun. First up to the chopping block when big bills arrived, ya know?

I would like to pick up another 12" Grizzly at some point as my collection is getting life again...

I know exactly what you mean. I've been trying to thin the heard and keep the core models in my collection and off the chopping block. I ran a 12" Grizzly for quite a while and I was very impressed with the finish of the later models of Grizzly. They have come a long way.

Looking at the receiver of the express I think it has to be Ceracoated. Its a very rough finish compaired to the Grizzly or an 870P. This is my first Express Receiver.

Here's mine. I picked up some an 870 walnut stock set and modified the forend to fit. After cutting it down to length it took a lot more than I thought to make it fit.

My bad for the massive photo.

I picked up a Dlask 7.5" SG years ago when they first came out. Like others said the pump grip will grate your hand like it was cheese and it became a novelty item.
I preferred my 590A1's (20", 18.5" and 14") more so it got sold. I'd post pics but Photobucket is sucking right now......

One thing about the grizzlies, is that they only have a bead sight on them, and they tend to shoot very high (mine shot 2 ft high at 50 yds). The shorter the barrel the higher the bead needs to be. If you put a straight edge along the top of the receiver, You will see the bead is way below the receiver which raises the point of impact because you have to raise the front bead up to the same plane to shoot. The Dlask barrels have a blade type front sight which makes the POI much better The grizzly I got was completely un-fireable out of the box. There was a massive burr around the mag tube where it entered the frame, and a shell couldn't even get past it. I had to strip and completely de-burr the entire gun.(and promptly sold it after trying it a few shots for functionality. Most people sell them partly because of that, and the fact that they are fun for a while, but other than looking nasty they are really a range toy. I had one cut down from an old wingmaster with a Dlask barrel and it was still cheaper than the complete Dlask gun. I still have my 14" and 20" slug guns but my shorty is long gone

My most recent Grizzly before settling with my 590A1. Got it with the pistol grip and modified a 870 Police pump to fit.

Isn't that too short to be legal? I was going to fit a folding stock to my 12.5 inch grizz and I'm sure it would be well under 24 inches. That setup looks to be 18 inches long
