Hi Guys,

I am in process of getting my ATT at Silverdale and I have restricted PAL. Unfortunately a pistol that I want to buy is currently out of stock in Canada and it's going to be a while when they will get it in stock.

Meanwhile I am waiting for this pistol to be back in Canada, I want to see what they have in second hand market. Three options that I have in mind: stores that sell used firearms, gun shows that we have in Ontario and online . I have couple of questions about those options:

Do they sell hand pistols/handguns in Canadian gun in shows? I have been to one yet and I don't even know if that's legal for them to sell restricted fire arms like that.

Are there any good stores that care good selection of second hand pistols/handguns close to Burlington Ontario?

Are there any good websites to shop around for second hand Pistols/Handguns? I like gunnutz and was wondering if there are any other like that or maybe even better.

Thank you in advance.

Just an FYI, you don't need an ATT for a club range anymore. The standard conditions will be attached to your RPAL and reissued when you register your first restricted. It covers the transport between your home and ANY recognized range in Ontario.

That's correct. That said the range where I am a member, silverdale, requires me to do course and probationary shoots before I can bring restricted forearm to their facility. Which totally makes sense for me and to be honest I enjoy this process, especially probationary shoots.

Try your local gun stores and gunsmiths first. They often have handguns on consignment and it is good to have local connections.

I live in Burlington and closest store and smithing place I know is called AL simons. Are there any other good stores around Burlington?

What kind of pistol were you looking at out of curiosity?

By the way Silverdale is great! Was a member there a couple years back.

I love silverdale and it's employees.

I want to buy Girsan Regard Stainless steel with a rail and 4.9 inch barrel. So far didn't find it anywhere and in all places they told me that their supplier run out of stock sof they are waiting on new delivery

Great choice! My first handgun was the Girsan Regard MC full size blued version, around 4K rounds through mine, truly an awesome shooter. I purchased mine roughly 3 years ago from Al Simmons.

SFRC The Ammo Source has some Stainless Girsan's in stock. Not the specific one you want I believe but still a good selection.

As nick said, what gun are you looking for? There is lots of good used guns floating around here.
I deal handguns at gun shows, you sell the gun, phone in transfer and when it is approved, the buyer picks it up or you send it out.
Many of the old fellows,( I am one ) think they can buy the gun and take it home, that was true many years ago, than we got" Liberated" by Allan Rock and those ###heads.
Other than all the stupid classes now, transfers are simple , as long as you have a range membership, I have done restricted transfers in 3 hrs, but I am not in Ont.

Yes, you are right, I want the one with a rail. Let me know guys if you see one like that. I will buy it for sure.

Liberated from common sense.

Not necessarily. I recently bought my second restricted (had the 1st one before the rules changed) and I have yet to receive a new license in the mail with the new attached ATT restrictions.

You won't get one until you renew your RPAL; you need to call the CFO and request one, they will fax it to you. My request was processed in about 10 seconds.
