You're too late. All new imports will be import marked......a no go for any serious collector.

There is information (from RCMP letter), not confirmed officially, that marking was pushed to 1 Dec.

Thought I read somewhere that markings will not be applied to historical firearms where it may have a negative impact on their value.

You got it wrong, on historical it could be just better hidden, but still should be applied. Because you know, it will save so many lives.

Very nice -- finding a replacement dust cover isn't particularly difficult or expensive if you want to go that route.

Thanks guys, I really like this rifle myself! The bore is shiny chromed so I might shoot it, when I have time.

Nice gun . I have a 99 also, but my Dad modifyied the bolt for a scope. I am in process of restoring it. Need a couple screws to refasten the sight and couple other little things.

You are one lucky man... that is as nice as they come. BTW, dust covers are not hard to find. If it were mine, I would delicately shoot it and enjoy it.
