I finally picked up my first cz rifle! Got it in the mail 2 days ago from reliable gun. My lgs has a Nikon p22 rim fire 2-7x32 scope with the bdc reticle for around 200, I have read another review on some other forum that another guy with the same combo had to use high rings because the scope was too large and the bolt wouldn't clear. He didn't recommend using that combo. Anyone else agree with him? I like the idea of the bdc for .22, and I do love my other Nikon scopes. What are you guys using? What wouId you recommend? will use the rifle for bench shooting, any input would be appreciated! Thanks

I put a 4200 Bushnell with a 40 bell and used BKL-257MB rings. Since you have no rear sight no worries there. BKL rings are roughly 30$ so if you find the meds are not to your expectations not to big a hit. Go to rimfireforum in the states lots of cz info rimfirecentre.com

I have a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire II 3-9 X 40 on mine. I used the BKL-257 rings, which is their lower set and to be honest, they are a little higher than they need to be. They could stand to be 1/8" lower.

Did you find them a little high?

I have a CZ455 varmint. Used Leupold 1" high rings model 54234 with Nikon Prostaff 3x9 Rimfire scope. The bolt handle is about 3/16" from the power dial. If I move the scope forward on rails even a 1/4", the bolt will interfere with rearmost part of the scope since its larger in diameter than the dial.

PM if you want a pic or two.

I have a CZ 455 heavy barrel in .22, with a Nikon rim fire 4-12 scope on it. Bought
Talley rings online via Amazon, Perfect fit and no interference with the bolt handle

Its going to be the ocular lens that may give you trouble.
I have always used Leupold Scopes with Leupold Rings (even though I schill Burris from time to time)
Low or Medium rings have always worked for me and you'll need the 11mm Leupold rings if your taking my advice/opinion and your free to differ, just post your results so others may learn.
Last scope I had was a 2-7 Rimfire VX1 and had low rings for the 455 in 17hmr.
Seeing as the .17 hmr fans have dried up I may have to reinvest in a scope and rings for the 455.
Yours looks sweet...
Post a picture of the target and then some of what you actually shoot ;)
Tight Groups,
Rob

Rob is correct about the bolt clearance being the issue with scope mounting. The rings however are available in medium or high, not low. Leupolds have the smallest diameter ocular that I've ever used and are less likely to cause clearance issues with the medium rings than bulkier Nikons. I usually use high rings for 40mm AO scopes to avoid fitment issues. The only other rings I recommend are Talleys...not a fan of nice rifle and scope packages with budget rings.

I find the main problem with the American and its 3/8" dovetail is that almost all aftermarket rings have the wrong dovetail angle and have an imperfect fit on the 60-degree cut. The only contact is the sharp edge along the wide part of the rail.

A 2-7 scope is rather low power for bench shooting -- unless it's at relatively close range. If you're going to shoot at 50 yards, get more magnification and AO so you can adjust focus for other distances.

This rifle has 11mm dovetail grooves.

I have a CZ 455 Canadian with a Leupold VX-2 3-9x33mm Rimfire EFR and Burris Signature rings. This is one of the lowest setup's that clears the bolt on the CZ's and it's top notch. Having an adjustable objective (AO) is a bonus. I would and will do it again on other CZ's

Nice. I have a similar setup & it's great. I have the american red and the burris rings. I got lucky, cause the bolt barely clears the low scope. The scope is exactly where I want it to be though! =Big win
