Hi, I recently found a restored BRNO rear sight assembly for a BRNO # 4 which I plan to use on my CZ 453 Lux.

Now I need :

- The front globe sight
- Rear sight adapter ( 16mm to 11mm dovetail )
- Front sight adapter

I found a couple threads on RFC and there is a guy in the USA that used to have parts for those sights.
I sent him an email but had no answer.

Anyone know where to find the parts I'm looking for ?
Any help is welcome !

The fellow in the US, Denny, is out of business. Apparently there is a seller in the Czech Republic selling Brno parts that a couple of people on rimfirecentral have used but I don't have his name. A search on rimfirecentral might turn up his name.
Unless your set on using it you might be better off to use something like the NECG or Skinner peeps and sell the Brno sight.
I have several of the Brno sights and tried one on a Brno #1 but to be honest I thought it stuck up too high. Fine for a range gun but not something you would carry around.

The 453 has a front sight ramp like a 452.You will need an adapter from the sight ramp to 11mm,the dovetail size of the globe. It would end up like trying to put the globe on a 455 lux.I think your best bet is to watch for used system to pop up in the for sale. There is lots of info on rimfire central. Is the front sight base removable like some 452's or is it sweated on?

It will be a range rifle only, its too nice to carry !
Yeah the setup is a little high but it needs to be higher than the factory rear sight.

I don't think the #4 front sight parts mentioned will fit a 453

It fit a 452 with an adapter. From what I can see, the 452 front sight looks the same than the 453.

I think I found a BRNO front globe sight ( finger crossed ).
If its the case, I will need to find those adapters.

The rear adapter should be easy to do. That's another story for the front...

Is your front ramp base held on with a screw to the barrel? If it is i had some adapters machined up that can be screwed to the 452 barrel utilizing the stock screw hole after the ramp was removed.Any good machine shop could do that all they need are some dimensions. This also allows the same adapter to be now used on a 455 lux barrel.
The globe isn't an issue but the inserts can be.The inserts are different dimensions than other globes. The globes are easy to get I have 3 spares.Annie's uses the same front globe 11 mm attachment but are 100.00 + each, but the inserts are easy to come by.
Putting the Annie globe on a non dovetailed barrel has the same challenge as the Brno globe without an adapter. The rear dovetail adapter is straight forward any shop with a vertical mill and corresponding dovetail cutters in the appropriate angle would be no challenge. The bottom of the adapter would slide onto the 11mm slots on the gun and the top of the adapter is machined as a clone of 16 mm cz dovetail to allow the 16mm sight to slide on the top and a hole in the adapter to allow a longer sight screw to tighten it all up and hold it secure. All mine that I got from Denny are like that. Two of mine have the adapter permanently installed on the sight with loctite retaining compound and then when removed the adapter stays with the sight.Hope this helps you on your adventure.

Thanks for the reply !

Can you tell us what's the inserts dimensions ?

I was looking for inserts for my Tula MЦ-12 which was almost impossible to find.
Took some Parker Hale inserts from Lee Shaver and filed down the *ears*. They fit like a glove.
Maybe the BRNO inserts dimensions are close to another type of inserts...

I know what the adapters look like.
The rear adapter is alot easier to do than the front adapter.

Front sight pics of my 453 Lux ( sorry for the crappy pics, light was fading fast... )
As you can see there is no screw that hold the front sight base.

You can buy inserts here from Joseph as a set in a box.I have bought from him numerous times. Email him and ask him about globes.I bought globes from him last year. His inventory is always changing he also ships to Canada quickly and is a stand up guy.I have the boxed set as well as spare inserts you have to ask him about them.No filing a plug and play,no need to file.
