CQBR / Mk18 Mod1 Clone thread - Show us your clones!

If you want to make your rifle lpighter here is my suggestion : car stock instead of sopmod, eotech instead of elcan.

You could also bring the peq closer to the receiver, it will put more weight towards the back to make it less nose heavy. Not sure if nose heavy or overall weight is the issue here, or if weight is an issue at all

Tonnes of operators use grips, sling mounts, stocks, covers, BUIS etc.
Some CQB M4's have been seen with Troy sights, others Magpul polymer. CQD mounts are by no means "needed". I prefer QD's over hooks
The Elcan is very heavy. I won't run in with an elcan on course.

My "standardized clone" with an elcan and a loaded mag came in at over 10lbs.

10 lbs is not so bad considering all attachments, not light weight by any means but not too bad either.

Think of it as 10lbs of fun

On the other hand, i have been contemplating the idea of switching to a geiselle mk8 rail, it is almost half as heavy as the mk18. Not that i find mine too heavy.

Next project: MK18 upper for my Colt M4 lower.
RIS or RIS II?

i have and did try all that stuff, but in the end it isnt about the weight and this is the configuration im most happy with. its was more a funny observation when i took all the stuff off to paint it. with all the stuff i have on her now it balances almost perfectly at the magazine.

Hello Brown rifle. less black, less evil. should make this non restricted now amirite!? colours are aervoe Coyote, field drab and OD. ive learned that coyote and field drab are essentially the same. coyote leans to the brown, field drab to the yellow.

now to beat this thing up.

I have dbal and elcan on top rail like that but the dbal covers some of the field of view. Is it like that with yours too?

I've been looking for an SF3P. I've been waiting months for my Warden. Did you buy your SF3P used or is there a vendor somewhere in Canada that has them in stock?

if your in the GVRD, ds tactical have SF3Ps in stock.

be warned, my armorers wrenchs didnt work on it. both weaver and magpul. 3/4 crows foot didnt work as well.

what i had to end up rigging, 3/4 combo wrench on a 3/8 socket attached to the torque wrench.
