I use mine at 300 and 500. 300 is no problem at all.

Haha, I was waiting for someone to say that. I admit I can understand wanting the legit Colt upper. In future I'll probably pick one up(if they don't become as scarce as is expected soon), but to me the upper was the most acceptable place to go less authentic. Effectively is the same, DS has been an on and off contractor for US Mil parts for a while now, and other than the Colt C marks and barrel marks, it functions entirely the same. I'm not as picky as some when it comes to markings(like the SU markings some go for). For me it was acceptable, at least made by a gov contractor. Like the dudes who roll the 10.5" LMTs.
Agreed. Had a magnifier behind my Aimpoint and it made 300m/y hits without much difficulty if I did my work. 400 was pushing it a bit. Pretty sure you've exhausted the effective velocity of 5.56 out of a 10.something barrel at that range.
