Gopher shooting

What's good round for shooting gophers at about 150-200 meters?

Reloading? 223 Remington for everything from 0 to 500 and more. Not reloading, 17hmr or 22 mag will both do 200 reliably.

338 Lapua or 416 rigby... if you shoot near them it will kill em.

My 222 Sako Varmint kills them like lightening out to 200 and beyond. I have gotten away from 22-250 or heavier as I like to see the varmints blow up in the scope. You will miss all this with a rifle that recoils a fair bit. Buddy shoots a 20 tac... wonderful gopher gun. Lots of pasture pests have met an untimely end with HMR's and such as well.

I went with a Savage model 93 chambering 17Hmr, just devastated the local gopher population! Outstanding!!!

Sounds a lot like when the US said 7.62 screw it let's go 5.56 and give ourselves a challenge.

Was out yesterday and witnessed the devastation of the 17 WSM on a gopher at 100 yards, nothing but a little strip of fur holding the front half to the back half

Here in Ontario gophers are sparse
I remember many as a kid
Coyotes have decimated gopher population
Guess I'm going coyote hunting

For gophers to 200 yards, the 17 hornet is about ideal.
