Crap... been doing this wrong from square one!!!

Never mind...... I thought the stuff this guy added from the bottles was flux. A second watch indicates it's what ever he is melting down.

Looks to be pretty dirty!

Neat melter though.

I would build one but cannot find much for W.W. anymore.

I hear you on that one. Been poking around Calgary for some to. Not having any luck.

I think the recession has spawned a lot of scrap collectors to compete with.

Any idea where you can order that sucker?

I assume you mean the Satan's Little Smelter?

I went searching for the supplier and the trail dead ended with a defunct Face Book Page. Cast Boolits posts indicate 3FG Fabrication and in the $275 US range.

If you figure out how to order. Let me know.

Great melter, but apparently hard to obtain and probably pricy as well by the time that you get it.

A more practical solution might be an outdoor turkey fryer and a cast iron stovetop Dutch oven, as long as the base will support 100# of molten lead. You could use a steel soup ladle, with the handle removed and fastened to a longer two-handed wooden pole, as a dipper.

I was just more curious as to what one landed would cost. I think they may be Unicorns now. Most of the posts about them are getting dated and a lot of the web links are dead ends.

As for the Turkey Fryer....

I halved a 20# propane tank

And picked up one of these.

The base ring on the 20# just fits inside the pot support bars on that burner. No chance of the pot tipping over. How lucky was that!

Should be good to go.
