For those who have used Irunguns for milsurps.

Hey all,

With the UN marking regulations delayed I thought now may be the time to move on some milsurps that I have been having issues finding in Canada. I combed over Irunguns FAQ's but unless I missed something it is pretty vague description wise of how it works and costs associated.
If anyone that has used the service for a gun broker purchase could chime in with some more detail that would be great.
 
I have done it. Super easy.

You register on their site, then when you buy the gun, you enter the details on their site form. You pay their fee and they will then e-mail you the FFL form, instructions, etc. All done remotely online. Your seller just ships it to a US FFL just like usual. When it arrives at the FFL, IRG sends you an invoice for the import tax/duty.

No complaints, their service was great.
 
Irun guns

I have used them as well as prophet river and Border view international. I imported a Canadian rifle with them, let them know and they still charged me for duty on importing a Canadian gun. When I complained/questioned them, all I got was "too bad, so say" be glad you got your gun. Others have indicated their attitude sucks. Would never use Irun guns again.

Go with Prophet River in Alberta and Borderview in BC.

The basic import fee is about the same for all the importers, $200-250. The tax/duty is variable based on value.

I've used all three and all were fine. While I really like PR, they are the only outfit I ever had a problem with. Generally, all 3 of the usual suspects do a good job for a similar price and every business makes the rare mistake.
 
I've used PR and IRG and had better experiences with IRG - weeks instead of months to get your gun. To be fair, PR made it right in the end, but these days I'll use IRG.

They email a ffl form to person importing- does that form have to be sent to the seller to get it shipped to the import ffl, or where does that form go?

You should send the IRG FFL document IRG sends you to the seller so they know where to send the firearm. That is the FFL the seller uses to send to IRG FFL in the US. Hopefully for you the seller eats his FFL's fees for handling and shipping the firearm. Many private sellers will ask you to cover their FFL fees.
