I come across some 8x56 M.Sch casses I dont know much about it , I did google and find limited info
anyone ever used this for hunting or anything

not to be confused with 8×56mmR its different in the case the 8x56M.sch dose not have a rim

Shoots great in 8mm Mannlicher rifles and carbines. Lots of "ooph" in them there rifles.

 

[Dosing]

Used to be a fair amount of old kynoch etc floating around the east coast gun shows, but not alot of rifles to go with them. See the odd 8X56MS rifle come up in the EE.

He is not talking about 8X56R (M30/31S) he is talking about 8X56 Mannlicher Schoenauer, not even close to being the same.

Yup, that "R" makes all the difference in the world. I usually have military surplus ammo on the brain. Not too much chambered for either one of those rounds......with or without the R.
