.22 handgun for Steel Challenge

I was considering the Ruger IV lite but they were not out at the time. Wholesale had a good sale on so I made my choice and picked a Buckmark. Beltfed watch this video form the match and your itch will turn into a infection.

Hey Scotts already been out to all the league nights so far :)

Tryin' to make it out to all of them! Gotta miss tomorrow though, too much to do getting ready for the first camping weekend of the year. And my dad is in town from BC, haha probably shouldn't ditch him.

Those 1.85/1.88 back to back runs were crazy! Thanks for editing out my miserable learninghowtobeRO attempt, haha.

OH, I just did a day of 22LR steel challenge yesterday at the full CDTSA MILO match.

SO MUCH FUN. I think I will be shooting rim fire from now on in those big matches.

A side question... what qualification /equipment is needed for .22 steel challenge? And do they have that near the Great Vancouver area in BC?

Abbotsford fish and game puts on steel matches there usually are divisions for center fire and 22.

Any serviceable pistol with 5 mags (you shoot 5 strings so usually saves time to have 5 mags). You don't draw from holster but low ready.

I think tmsa does steel challenge as well.

What he said. Rimfire Pistol and Rimfire Rifle Start from the low ready only. So no need for holsters or holster certifications. It truly is a great way to get into the discipline.
And yes 5 mags is a plus or else you will need a mule loading mags for you while you are shooting.

So not even mag pouch or belt is needed and no reload required during shooting... nice!!!

May not be required, but you may have to. I've seen people have mag issues or brain farts and not fully loading mags and need to grab a spare.

I usually spread my mags out for quick reloads if required. Sometimes depending on the stage you can have 5+ plates. Match last weekend had one stage with 7 plates at varying distance.
