Eotech settles lawsuit with buyers

I've had my license a lot longer than a year.

End of April 2016 ... "Just got my RPAL".

You're boring to talk to and you're the exact type of person the firearms community does not need. You post that you openly mock other members about their setup. You remind me of every know-it-all airsoft commando I have had the displeasure of interacting with.

Later kiddo, I'm done interacting with people like you.

And yet he keeps going. Must be boring having no friends on account of being the kind of person who goes out of his way to make strangers feel bad about their setups at the range.

Totally pathetic. I'd rather pass a kidney stone again then have the displeasure of interacting with members like him.

this is interesting to me.
my wife just bought me a s&w ar15 sportII. I'm looking at optics and since eotech is in the running, this is why I'm interested in this thread.
I am trying to decide if I go with eotech's xps2, vortex spitfire x1, or the holosun 510c iirc (their xps2 lookalike). I hate to say it, but the holosun is very interesting, and the reviews appear to be positive. I find the same positive review on all 3 optics, there are the odd negative write ups, but very few.
I think I will still go with the eotech. non reflective, fast, and simple. other than a less than stellar battery life, I find it hard to bash on the xps2. I doubt it will ever experience the extreme's that cause the moa fluctuations, and I like the fact that is made in the USA, not china.
if I take the plunge i'll keep you posted.

HAHAHA I guess my attempt at humour didn't pan out. You know the cliche line, "fun loving guy likes long walks on the beach, candle lit dinners etc etc..." Maybe not. Anyway that was the tongue in cheek "introduction" post.

Anyway, about your post/comments. You attack me personally(or rather you attempted to) because you have nothing of value to add to the discussion. You haven't and cannot refute the data I posted because it's all FACT. Somehow you believe that a person having their PAL for a short period of time is somehow related to their firearms knowledge. As I posted before I've had my PAL for far longer than a year but I understand where you got the impression I hadn't. That being said I guess you either don't have a PAL or just got it within the fiscal 2017 year as your knowledge base seems to be rather narrow. When you can debate what I have posted and disprove the FACTS then maybe you might earn some respect but not until.

Totally pathetic. I'd rather pass a kidney stone again then have the displeasure of interacting with members like him.

And again, if you can't debate or disprove my posts and the accompanying data then it's safe to say you're out of your league here. Hence your resorting to personal attacks.

I second that. I'll be unsubscribing from this thread, there is nothing good to be had here.

Nothing good if you're closed minded and prefer to deny FACTS.

No offense Lady Socom but all three of your options listed are low end garbage. Vortex speaks for itself in their rampant failure rates and constant warranty usage. Holosun is cheap Chinese airsoft level garbage that fails a simple water bucket test. The Eotech has many failures which it appears you haven't read about or don't understand. The "extreme's" that you talk about for the Eotech failures are not extremes. The thermal drift occurs throughout ALL temperature ranges, the most significant drift occurred at the EXTREME temps listed by Eotech under their operating temp range. There is also the failure to return to zero after the sight experiences ANY temperature variation. The parallax issue which also causes POI shift occurs at all temps and can be rather extreme, up to 20 MOA and that was at minus 15'c and shifted 12 MOA at a mere 0' Celsius!! Eotech optics like the Holosun are not waterproof which leads to reticle fade and ultimately failure. These problems have NOT BEEN CORRECTED as some like the thermal drift are a design limitation.

I still am shocked at how many people will support a company who put profit ahead of ethics at the expense of military and law enforcement lives by selling faulty fraudulent product for a decade! That alone puts Eotech/L3 on the sh*t list. Is it ok in your mid that a company rips people off by falsing advertising the capabilities of their product?

i'm not interested in the lawsuit, it has been resolved. you can call them garbage, but what other options are there when one wants to keep domestic without going broke?
i'm shocked that so many various agency's use these so-called junk optics lol.
i'm not jumping on any wagons. but in all seriousness, what do you recommend that does not come with tube?

You should be interested in the lawsuit, especially as someone who is in the market for a reddot type sight. What I call them is immaterial to the discussion as the FACTS of the situation are that Eotech sights are not waterproof, suffer from parallax issues, suffer from delamination/reticle fade issues, suffer from thermal drift at all temperatures, have inconsistent adjustment values and unknown paraisitic battery drain problems. All of these are well documented and most were admitted to by the very people/company that make them. Not my opinion.... FACTS.

The fact that LE agencies are still foolish enough to use an optic that doesn't perform as advertised and was fraudulently sold to them for a decade is beyond comprehension. I'm sure budget restraints and other issues internally aren't making the switch(more like dump) away from Eotech any easier.

As for what to buy. The going price of an Eotech today is $650-$800. For that money you could have an Aimpoint PRO, a Trijicon MRO, a Trijicon RMR. If you watch the EE you can get Aimpoint comp M4S for about the same and even score Aimpoint Micro T1/H1 models as well. Eotech sights are far from cheap and the competition is equal or less money.

Had my EOtech for quite some time now. Never had any sort of an issue with drift. I'm even one of those idiots who likes to go out to the range in the dead of winter, because I get the whole firing line to myself.

I even had it in the back of my truck during the summer. The cab was so hot you could cook an egg on it. The EOtech was too hot to touch. Performed fine.

Either I have some kind of super EOtech, or the conditions for it to actually fail to the point where it's useless are in fact pretty harsh, which 99% of the people here will never experience.

A great buy. I plan on getting another one for another one of my rifles, so I don't have to swap and re-zero.

Got friends who own them too. Never an issue. I have a friend who jumped on the doom and gloom bandwagon and sent his back for a refund, even though he never had an issue either. He regrets his decision, and wants to buy another one.

Can't say I've ever witnessed anyone pointing and laughing at me when I use mine. My groupings speak for themselves.

this is why is don't have concerns with the eotech. so much so, i brought mine home last night :)
bnib xps2-0 it wasn't inexpensive 625.00, but i am confident in my decision. once i get it dialed in, i think the co-witness will be pretty slick.

I had zero complaints with my Eotech XPS 2-2 but since I only had around $400 into it from a trade deal and they gave me $700 Canadian to send it back I couldn't resist. Got my cheque a couple months after I sent it in.
