With the crazy prices on the 686 these days, I could not resist and ordered one. Are there any Canadian retailers carrying the Wolff reduced power spring kits? Worst case I'll order directly from Wolff but finding it hard to spend $20US shipping on a $15 spring kit. :p

Thanks. Go figure, one of the few places I didn't check. I always thought he carried cowboy action stuff. I ended up ordering 'em directly. I added a few extra springs for other guns to make it worthwhile.

From what I've been reading, a 13lb rebound spring. Not sure what weight the hammer spring is other than reduced power.

When I changed mine out I think I just did rebound spring and main spring bar, it's been awhile, but I do have an extra 13lb rebound spring, brand new, and I have a brand new main spring bar but it doesn't have the tag on it, shoot me a PM if your interested

I use the 13lb rebound springs in all my Smith revolvers, but I stayed with standard power main springs so they will still work in DA with primers other than just Federal .

Ya, I've read a few reviews on the Wolff reduced power mainspring of users getting light primer strikes. I'll pop a few primers before hand to verify good ignition else I'll go back to the stock spring.

I have to run primarily federal primers now, but the reduced DA pull is worth it, it's a crazy difference from stock, I have another revolver I've left alone that I can run factory and my reloads I made before I did the spring swaps

Im in the same boat. Nothing worse then having to click your way around a cylinder to tap a primer for the second time.
But, with our targets in league night going further out I am noticing that trigger control is becoming more and more important.

Anyone try the Miculek springs? Are they just Wolff springs rebranded under his name? His website also recommends using Federal primers with these springs. Damn, only got a few hundred Federal primers left.

You can also stone the rebounder and frame where the rebounder slides to smooth that out. If you're really ambitious you can use a small round hone and also do inside the rebounder to smooth out where the spring rides.
