Did you pay too much?
We have been selling these at work (all flavours of the SA-08) and the comments have been positive from those who bought them.
So back in November we were at a gun buyers show and ATA had their booth set-up along with the glossy posters of the "name brands" they produce and sure enough, they make the SA-08 for Weatherby.
They even have it available in their own model - the CY series.
So I order up a few in the three configurations - black, walnut and camo. They come in about a month ago and I finally get around to unpacking one and getting a good look. Nice shotgun. So I take the camo version out to the cabinets and put it beside the Wby SA-08 Camo. And I can't tell the difference. We take the pair out and compare them - damn, even the camo pattern looks like bookends with it beside each other.
There was only three differences that we saw. The first being the ATA in red letters where the other said Weatherby. The serial number was in a different spot on the receiver between the two. Oh ya, and the last difference was the pricetag with the ATA coming in at over $300 "less". So we ended up moving them a little further apart in the cabinet.
