Kahles 6-24

Try Omar, Plain sight solutions

I saw one a couple weeks ago at the Calgary Shooting Center

His name is Omer, not Omar!

I'm pretty sure the K624i is on back order. I bought the last one available in Canada two months ago and I had to ship it back for a replacement (the scope had two small scratches). I'm waiting for a new one to arrive and there is no ETA available. Contact Omer and see if he has anything in stock. I'm waiting for a 10616 model.

Contact Clay at Prophet River. He got me mine in a few days after i ordered it. Otherwise any Swarovski dealer can get one for you if you don't want to ship it across the country.

I just researched the OPTICS TRADE website and they have them in stock. Priced at $3,252.00.......good luck!

I just checked them out, and while it's really tempting, I think I'll wait. I don't want to be left hanging if I ever need warranty work.

Thanks for all the tips, I'll call around today. Maybe I'll just go with vortex.

Quite a jump from the oldest scope company in the world to one that doesn't even manufacturer themselves.

Maybe, maybe not. The vortex razor gen 2 4.5x 27 compares very favourably to other high end scopes. And while the kahles is what I'd prefer, I'd also like to shoot it this summer.

This is the thing that bugs me the most about the gun industry, the unavailability of product. It must suck as a retailer to have to tell customers no I don't have that and I don't know when I can get it.

They don't stock it because it's a rather niche item, as the K624i come in 4 different reticles and each is available with left windage turret and it also comes in 2 different colours.

It doesn't help also that Kahles practically does zero marketing in Canada.

99% of the Canadian shooting population will not spend more than $299 for a scope so that's what the retailers stock. That's the reality.

We can get. Swaro does distribution for these now and we are direct with them. If they have it there, only takes a few days to get.

True! Vortex 4.5x27 is a great scope, comparable to Kahles and in some aspects, it's even better (slightly better glass and turrets). But waiting is killing :(

P.S. BTW, Optics Trade is a "gray dealer" and Kahles does not provide a warranty for Canadians who buy from Optics Trade.

Not true. A Canadian batch of Kahles scope has been completely sold out very fast. The reality is that our market is so small compared to US market and manufacturers just have their own priorities. Kahles also is more expensive in the US where dealers sell K624i for $3000 USD and up. So, the markup could be higher. Bushnell couldn't supply enough scopes to Canadians during the past rebate event. There were a lot of Canadians wanting DMR IIi or DMR II and they couldn't buy it. Vortex already started selling PST Gen II 2-25x50 in the USA and I don't see them here yet.

Of course we do want a reliable product and not have to send it off for warranty. I have conducted some research into domestic and foreign optics to search for one answer, "who makes their optics/glass?" There is only one company who admits to in-house manufacturing of their own optics. This company also makes the glass for many top name European scopes, as well as their own. Their own scopes are of equal quality of the big name European Swarovski Z6/Zeiss Victory, for half the price.

Pretty sure that is not true. I have a buddy who bought one from them and it did not work. He had a new one fairly quickly.

Strange. I have an email from Swarovski rep:

Please let your customers know when they are looking for a price match that those are grey market products and will come with no warranty.

Thank you,
Evan Dextraze

So, I made my statement based on that.
