What side does everyone put their bolt heads? I just mounted a new scope on my Sako 85 in a set of Talley rings/bases(bolt heads left side). Then I went and grabbed my Sako 75 (same rings/bases)and it turns out I mounted those ones on the right side. My OCD level is obviously pretty low because I just tossed them on there without really thinking. So who does what?

If the windage screw heads are large, I prefer to put them on the left side to ensure they do not interfere with ejection of spent brass. In an apparent contradiction to my own preference, I habitually put the levers of QD rings on the right side.

This. The opposite only makes sense for left-handers.

The left side for a right ejection port and the right side for left.
A friend believed his Browning lever was not ejecting as the fired round was still inside the port.
By ejecting the spent round carefully it could be seen clearing the port then bouncing back inside after striking the nut on the right side.
The rings were reversed and the problem was solved.

side opposite the bolt handle.........if there is no bolt handle then the side opposite the shooters eye......eye
