Hey
well , took my wife on a nice drive out to see her mom today and they wanted to go shopping so dropped them off and I went to look around at local gunshop in her area.
I wasn't supposed to purchase any more guns for a bit as we just moved and well as my wife keeps saying " take up knitting " its cheaper lol
anyways I like my optima shot gun but now we have more property I can target shoot more I was kinda looking for something non restricted to switch it up a little.
didn't want to spend too much and the guy behind the counter showed me two shot guns, the uzkon 40 in wood and in black stocks. small and light, and not bad price under $400,
so I did it and bought the wood stock version. and was happy to see it comes with internal threaded barrel with three chokes in the box full, inproved modified and modified.
does anyone have this kind of shotgun and what are your impressions of it. tomorrow Im going to give it a feeding of birdshot and see how it shoots. next question is getting different chokes for this gun, I plan on trying to hit some clay discs ( if I'm lucky) and was wondering if other chokes will work with this gun so next time I'm in Barrie I'll stop by cabela's and pick up a skeet choke or do any of you rec that I just use one of the three it came with for skeet, I know its a short barrel so not expecting much but it's lighter then my optima and easier to walk around with in the bush
anyways I have some learning to do with chokes and such
Glenn.

Im not going to say that I know everything about chokes and shotguns and such. But I would say one of those 3 that came with the gun should work well for skeet. When shooting with my 870 I usually use an improved modified if Im just cruising around in the bush or shooting skeet.
Hope this helped
As far as pattern tightness the progression will go full - tightest (smallest group/ pattern), improved modified - mid range, and finally modified - loosest (biggest group/ pattern). Or at least thats my understanding of chokes

oh
see i did google it and got different answers, going to look into it some more
does anyone know what other chokes will fit?
and what choke do i install if i use slugs , to protect the threads

Improved cylinder would be a safe bet for sure. I'd imagine modified would be fine as well. I've read on here that you can safely shoot slugs through a full choke, but not sure if I'd wanna try it.

ok thanks
can you guess im new to shotgun chokes..lol
just need to find more chokes that will thread into the barrel
Glenn.
