First AR15 (and gun) accessories recommendations?

Ammo&magazines are the best mods.

People will tell you that you need all kind of accessories. If you listen to them, your AR will weight 14 pounds empty by the end of the year :p

What he said. I would replace the handguard as well as I found after shooing a few hundred rounds it starts to smoke a bit. No heat shield, just plastic, like what you get for airsoft. I just replaced mine with a sold carbine model.

Not my rifle, just a pic with the handguard;

don't buy that piece of #### handguard

first noob mistakes are buying cheep crap

im looking specifically for one with a A2 front sight cut-out for my handguard, is there any particular reason that one is bad (bad quality?) if so, do you know of a better one with a a2 cutout?

Congrats on the purchase. But I feel your waiting will be a lot harder now that you have a blaster waiting for you :p

Don't buy into what other people like. Get your gun and try it first. Try other people's at the range maybe you will find something you like better.

Who makes that HG? I think im going the M-lok route.

in my personal experience changing from a flashhider to a different muzzle brake changes the rifle completely. I personally like the tactical comps (griffin armament, s&j hardware, battlecomp). They reduce recoil and flash. It's a big difference from a flashhider, but changing to a very effective ported brake will be HUGE

Hey everyone, I dont quite have my ar15 or PAL yet but I finally managed snag a Colt Expanse on the deal price ($660) and get it on hold for me that I've paid for so when my RPAL finally comes in I can just go pick it up. So since my rifle is pretty much confirmed and set in stone I've figured I might as well get some accessories while I wait and I'm wondering if my current plan for accessorizing my ar is any good or if theres better things i can stick onto it.

I currently Have:
Colt Expanse
Vortex Sparc AR RDS

What I'm planning on getting:
Extended handguard with a cutout for A2 Frontsight (thinking of this one atm but theres not a whole lot of info on it so im not too sure about it)
Foregrip (Vertical/angled/short which one should a newbie get?)
Vortex VMT 3x Magnifier
ButtStock (I have no idea which ones are good....)
Dust Cover (are these really $20+?)
Barrel Shroud (I heard because you can't have a muzzle brake the recoil is increased, is it significant?)
LAR15 Mags (plastic or metal? and whats a good price for them)
Back up iron sights (are these necessary?)
Accessorize with a few cases of ammunition!
