Nea 102

Read your post objectively and tell me you're not ridiculing NEA....hint, use of word douchebag.

You clearly weren't around when they were. My use of the word "douchebag" is more than objective.;)

How about "condescending ### hats"? Is that mo better?

for all you haters out there......

i clearly remember the Day the police came and took my FAL away. And now I have a chance to buy a 308 rifle that i can use for hunting. $1600 is peanuts. I will spend that on ammo the first year!

After your FN FAL was taken away, I'm sure you're far more skeptical of any political claims that they aren't after your guns... Well guess what, after the first NEA AR15 entry, the problems and subsequent shillgate fallout, many on here are also skeptical. It's not without reason.

Also I can't stand this millennial "hater" garbage. It's designed to limit discussion and try to label others while attempting to make their argument sound based on emotions. Really it's a Liberal type of tactic. I understand why the millennial generations might want to use it, but if you were around when the FAL was reclassified then you should know better.

I'll be getting one or maybe more of the NEA102 rifles. But if it's a flaming POS I wont' be trying to ignore it. I'm hoping these will be good. It's not really a new product as they've been selling AR308 rifles for a few years already. If that wasn't the case, I'd be a lot more reserved based on NEA's history with poor QC along with questionable business practices. Come to think of it, the only true Canadian rifle maker that I currently trust is Cadex.

with their heavy barrel?

From this website
https://www.iwa.info/en/ausstellerprodukte/iwa17/product-9816529/nea25-18-dmr

The NEA25 18” DMR is an accurate, long range, semi-automatic rifle. It is extremely light weight and compact for its class making it that much easier and quicker to deploy when required. The 18.5” barrel paired with quality 7.62x51 ammunition will reliably provide accurate and effective firepower at engagement distances of up to 800m with a maximum engagement distance of 1600m with 7.62x51 NATO ammunition. The Direct Thread Suppressor provides a sound reduction of more than 14Db allowing the operator to communicate with other team members over the gunfire. The suppressor also mitigates the flash signature of the firearm protecting night vision optics and providing a greater degree of visual concealment.

Gas operated, direct gas impingement, semi-automatic
Weight, empty no magazine: 7lbs 3oz
Weight, with 30 round magazine: 8lbs 14oz
Overall Length Collapsed Stock: 36.74”

Kinda like you're ridiculing them now?

Businesses =/= individuals. I for one choose to steer clear from businesses who behave childishly publicly, I learned this a while back when dealing with cars and modifying them. If they cannot remain professional when dealing with all forms of publicity, changes are they struggle in other areas as well.

Question as there is not a great deal of info regarding specs for this Rifle. not a fan of the muzzle brake in the picture from SFRC. Are there after market flashhiders that are available for these rifles. Checked the NEA site and can't find anything. I'm sure there must be something on the market. I already have my mags and optics ready to roll. Just waiting on the next batch of rifles.

Anything that is 5/8x24 thread will fit and there are tonnes of them.

NEA has been making and selling the NEA25 for some time now overseas. I'm confident that the 102 is similar enough to invest in a first gen rifle, as most potential issues were most likely ironed out with beta testing of the '25.

Incidentally, with respect to pricing, Jeff has consistently tried to reduce MSRP on NEA products as economy of scale kicked in or raw materials costing went down. When NEA first launched their CZ-858 line of parts and accessories, prices of extremely popular parts like picatinny handguard sets, optics mounts, magazine releases, etc., were deliberately reduced by NEA as they were able to realize additional manufacturing savings. Instead of keeping the prices artificially high and pocketing the extra profit, as so many other Canadian manufacturers and dealers have done and continue to do so, NEA passed the savings on to their customers.

I'm no shill or NEA fanboy, and I readily admit that early gen ARs had issues, but the NEA team seem to have learned from their early mistakes and largely corrected those issues via better QC or changing sub-contractors and/or parts vendors responsible for many of those problems, etc..I was confident enough to try one of their 7.5" PDW with CCS stock. Thus far it's been flawless.

NEA have taken a lot of crap here on CGN in the past for their initial growing pains, and there's no question that the whole shill fiasco was plain dumb. So, at least initially, the NEA bashing could be reasonably justified. However, that was years ago. Anyone directly impacted or affronted by their actions back then have long had their pound of flesh from NEA. Continuing to rehash ancient history and beating the same dead horse is beyond tiresome. It's time to move on and give it a rest.

NEA made a major investment in trying to bring a Canadian legal AR-10 pattern black rifle to market and stuck with it for years, despite dealing with the hostile black hole of the RCMP gun control bureaucracy. Having beaten the odds, and actually managing to bring an affordable non-restricted 102 to market, NEA should be applauded, not vilified or denigrated. It's a shame that a handful of haters are so filled with vitriol that they seem unconcerned as to just how toxic such comments can be to an online firearms community such as CGN. As Canadian gun owners we already have enough enemies, we sure as hell don't need to manufacture more or tear down fellow industry allies. Let's just be happy that we're going to have an opportunity to push the bush with a cool new black rifle and enjoy the small victories where we find them.

NEA kicked everyone's ass, good for them!
Wake up Canadont, this is how we move forward as a community.
As far as the naysayers , go home and shot your grandaddys shotgun.

Well said brother!
