I just picked up an old Cooey 64 from my grandpa. I picked up a relatively cheap scope for it today from Bass along with some 7.3/.22 scope rings. The rings attach to the dovetails machined into the top of the reciever on the rifle, problem being the scope is not centred with the rifle... I feel like i have the wrong rings, but Im not sure. I measured the dovetails on the rifle and they work out to be 1/2" from point to point.

Where do I go from here? anyone had the same issue?

I had this exact issue earlier today, I tried Bushnell rimfire rings which were flat instead of rounded. I ended up using (rather shamefully) sun optics rimfire rings. They're crap quality but I got the gun for free and they fit. The issue as far as I can tell is that some rimfire rings are meant for flat receivers and some are meant for rounded receivers.

This. Need rings that fit rounded receiver

Ok, got her all figured out. Called Reliable Gun here in Van, Great guys btw. This is what I ended up with:

B Square 3/8" Dovetail to Weaver Adapter Rail set #17025
Burris 1" Zee Rings (Low, Weave Style) #420083

They fit awesome. The rails had to be bent open a bit, but they are by the looks of it made to do so. Still tightens very nicely. Same with the rings. Because the rails were slightly wider, the rings needed to "massaged" a little to fit. Nothing got wrecked doing this so I feel they fit as designed.
